Rev. Amalie Hill

I was born in Iowa and educated in Nebraska, were I attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln. My husband and I moved to Oregon in 1973. Bob and I have been married for almost 45 years and we have two sons. Seth is a software engineer who lives in Portland with his two sons. Jasen, a contractor, and one of his sons live with us outside of Jefferson [his other son and daughter live with their mother.]I am an eager student of learning and am interested in a wide variety of subjects, including science, the arts and metaphysics. I have studied metaphysics since the early 70’s, but I first encountered what I would now describe as Cosmic Consciousness as early as 10 years old. My earliest religious training was in the Unitarian Church.

My studies in Religious Science began with the late Rev Marie Sukalac, founder of the Salem Religious Science Center and continued with Rev Butterfly Wright. I was a board member of the Salem Religious Science Center for many years and served as president for six years. I was a regular speaker there.

I have taken all the basic SOM classes several times as well as the practitioner course and others as new ones opened up.

I am a writer currently editing my third novel and writing the fourth. I am also an artist and designed the new book covers for my books. I enjoy gardening and baking – my grandkids say the brownies I make are the “world’s best!”
