Release: The Fifth Step
Vacation time gives us a feeling of ease and grace, of letting it all go. Why should we live that way only two weeks out of the year? If we are to “duplicate the nature of Spirit in the world,” then we should live in that state of ease and grace always, as Spirit does.

I.  The definitions of release:   To let loose again, to set free; to let go; to relieve, as from pain, trouble, penalty.
A.  To let loose again, to set free.
1.  We are to set free that spirit within us that has always been free because it is the God nature, the truth of who we are. Jesus said we have to
become like a child (free) in order to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
B.  To let go.
1.  We have to let go of our need to control, and release all our concerns to God. We really cannot control anything anyway. Let go and let God.
C.  To relieve, as from pain, trouble, penalty.
1.  Every spiritual tradition has some version of miraculous healing, of God relieving us of all our pain and misery. Often, the only way a healing
occurs is when we turn it over to God. (That tells us that, in that particular instance, the pain isn’t in our lives in order for us to find
the perfect doctor, it is there in order for us to find the perfect faith.)

II.  Why “ought” we to live in the ease and grace and release of vacation?
A.  First of all, because something deep inside each of us says we ought to.
1  .Every person has that moment when they look around and say, “I ought to have, be, or do better than this.”   That is the voice of the divinity within each of us asserting Itself.
B.  Secondly, every mystic and wayshower who has ever lived tells us of a better way, a greater life for all.  Emma Curtis Hopkins said, “There is good for me
and I ought to have it.”   Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.”
1.  Jesus also said, “Know ye not that ye are gods?” Gods are masters at creation. We are here to create the world and to do it in a god-like fashion.

III.  Release is the fifth step in our 5-step form of prayer, spiritual mind treatment.
That is an important place to be: that is where we let our words and intentions go out into the Universe for the Universe to do the work of manifestation for us.  We are practicing faith here, and faith is the ultimate power.  Jesus said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Make the things of God (love, joy, peace, health, abundance, etc.) your priority and they will manifest in your life, as what you focus on, grows.
